"I like the way the chords move in this one. The way I write is, I get the basic chord progression, then I go in and try to make it more interesting with a couple of weird-sounding chords. I did that with 'Truth and Oil' too. I wanted it to sound compositionally interesting, in a Radiohead kind of way, but I didn't want it to sound 'muso.' If I feel like I'm listening with my head instead of my soul, that's when I start editing myself big-time."
